Minibeasts

Kindergarten have been busy learning about minibeasts. We have been on minibeast hunts around the school and in the forest, learning about ladybird, butterfly and bumblebee lifecycles, finding out interesting facts in non-fiction books, enjoying minibeast stories and songs and making our own minibeasts!

We presented a minibeast assembly to the whole school, where we sang "Incy Wincy Spider" and recited the poem "Here is the Beehive". We also shared some of our own minibeast creations.

Sports Day 2011

Sports Day 2011 saw SIS Männedorf travelling to SIS Tamins to join in their sports day. The children enjoyed being surrounded by the mountains and took full advantage of using SIS Tamins vast outdoor space.

The children enjoyed being in mixed groups, making new friends and helping each other in the activities. There was a wide range of team-building activities which all the children participated in, such as orienteering, football, parachute games, a fancy dress race and an obstacle course.

Project Week 2011

Project Week 2011 took place last week. The children had the opportunity to work ‘Hand in Hand’ and learn all about building while also making new friends and supporting one another.

All pupils, kindergarten and primary, were separated into mixed age groups. Throughout the week the children got to learn about and construct towers and bridges, make castles, discover types of homes around the world and design and create shelters. Have a look at some of our work...

As well as these great activities, the pupils also went on an exciting trip to the MFO-Park in Oerlikon. There the children carried out a range of activities including: a treasure hunt, solving puzzles, looking at optical illusions, climbing to the top of Oerlikon tower, as well as having a tour of the MFO-Park and having some time to play on the playground. Again, here are some pictures to show you what we got up to...

On the final Friday we were very happy to have so many parents come and see what their children had been doing during project week. Thanks for your support!
